We Are Reformed

The word “reformed” simply means that we hold to a historic and Protestant understanding of Christianity. During the Protestant reformation, "Five solas" emerged. These five solas were latin phrases that were used to summarize the Reformers foundational beliefs in contradistinction to the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church in that time period. The five solas are as follows: Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone), Sola Fide (Faith Alone), Sola Gratia (Grace Alone), Solus Christus (Christ Alone), and Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God Alone). Click here to read a brief description of each sola.

A further summary of our doctrinal commitments at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church can be found in the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Westminster Larger and Shorter Catechisms.
